VISION STATEMENT

Therapeutic Recreation is vital to the health and well-being of Nova Scotians and is accessible to all.

MISSION

The Nova Scotia Therapeutic Recreation Association (NSTRA) is the professional association for the field of therapeutic recreation in Nova Scotia. It exists as a community of recreation therapy professionals; supporting, guiding and enhancing practices for therapeutic recreation. 

IN PURSUIT OF THIS NSTRA FOCUSES ON:

  • Advocacy to government and other organizations;
  • Education and learning;
  • Building connections within and around the profession;
  • Standards of service and practice.

Northeastern: Cumberland, Colchester,
Guysborough, Pictou & Antigonish Counties
Valley: Annapolis, Hants & Kings Counties
Southwestern: Shelburne, Digby & Yarmouth Counties
South Shore: Lunenburg & Queens Counties
Cape Breton: Cape Breton Island

The NCTRC is thrilled to announce our nationwide feature on the award-winning television series, Innovations with Ed Begley, Jr.

This educational and informative 6 minute segment has aired on FOX Business Network and CNN. It explored advances in therapeutic recreation, showcased the key issues impacting the practice of recreational therapy, and discussed the vital role that NCTRC plays in protecting consumers and promoting excellence of the profession through the certification of recreational therapists.
